Have a strange problem that I've had no response to on the Apple Forums or elsewhere as yet. Rev A 233MHz iMac running OS9.1 and QuickTime 6 (standard) with 192Mb RAM and the original 2Mb VRAM. Added an extra 2Mb of brand new VRAM and QuickTime now will not play movies properly. Displays in Greyscale, which plays fine, but only way to display colour is to select "show video controls" from the Movie menu and then it plays really badly. Apple System Profiler recognizes the VRAM, and the monitor will display millions of colours at 1024x768 which suggests the VRAM is OK. Only problem appears to be in QuickTime where some movies that played properly before, now only display as detailed above.
Additionally, it only happens with live movies, not screen shot based tutorial movies etc. Anyone got any idea what is going on here?
