I got the bottom open but cannot work out (without taking completely apart)
to get to the HDD.

Once you've unscrewed the clear plastic bottom you need to remove the grill plate, there are several screws all around including down the left side where there is a large plastic side piece jutting out so a long magnetic screw driver is needed, especially for reassembly.


Once that is off the HD is obvious and very easy to get to, just unscrew from the housing, unplug the connectors and swap drives.

I hope this helps, it's been a while since I last did this (on a 450 DV model) and I don't have anything written down, hence the vagueness, but it really is straightforward though.
