Another Sunday spent trying to keep my creaking old Mac rig (OS 8.6 Performa 5400/160 G3 accelerator) going.
After years of running this program without a hitch suddenly it has started to freeze on trying to launch TWAIN acquire. I've turned-off the extension and it still freezes. I've increased the memory allocation-yes it still freezes. I've thrown away the Adobe prefences. Yes you've guest it: It freezes. I've reset Photoshop to make sure that it definately points towards the correct plug-in folder and, well you know, the anwser. Tried rebuilding the desktop and zapping the PRAM. Did it and it doesn't. I've tried updating the TWAIN and it says it can't find the scanner. However Text bridge Pro OCR continues to work like a dream. That is the scanner fires up captures the image then does the optical character reading bit. >From this I deduce that the problem is somewhere between Photoshop 'acquire' command and accessing the scanner program. It's been a long day. HELP!
