I have a four port USB KVM from Lindy (the Lindy CPU Switch USB) which has worked flawlessly for the past three years. I dont believe that this KVM has keep-alive functionality, though the systems have always re-enumerated successfully when I switch backwards and forwards between them. Current systems are two PCs and two Macs.
Lindy part number is 32342 and I would expect that it would cost 199 or so, maybe less. They also have a remote control switch for changing inputs, part number 32255, which is extremely expensive for what it is at about 59 or so. Any decent computer reseller should be able to get these for you. Check out the details on www.lindy.co.uk. In my experience, this isn't an error in the PC, (although some PC's do handle USB better than others, while Mac's handle it flawlessly - without a doubt!) it's a problem with the KVM. Not all KVM's are created equal, and my experience has shown that lower-end KVM unit's exhibit this problem the worst. -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
