I have had trouble with disk utility and partioning the disc (extended mode). The process stopped in the middle. I am left with A Disk that mounts called Prolific 4.0 GB.
ONly 4 GB shows. I have tried zeroing it, and only the 4 GB is completed.
How can I re-initialize the disc, but the whole one, without 'missing' partions. or otherwise resurrect it?
Do I need another disc utility?
Is there a size limit to partitions?

Hi, I've a new Western Digital extermal firewire disk. It isn't recognsed and doesn't mount in OSX. However it was recognized at first but my attempt at disk utilities partition failed (it hung). SInce then no recognition, nor by Disc Utility.
I OS9 Tech Tool recognised two three of the partitions, and I was able to remount them. But now they appear as Locked read-only! I cant reinitialize the disc in Tech Tool.
In OSZ they still do not appear.
What on earth should I do?
