I've been watching some eBay auctions for iBooks. It seems that the PC World offer haven't been widely known as there have been 600Mhz & 700 Mhz iBooks, s'hand, sold on eBay in the last few days for around 600....

I'm torn. I've got a really good 12" PB that fills most of my needs, but I could in theory have a use for a second laptop - as a Linux machine. But do I need it to the extent of 500? Ah well, the dilemna has gone away at the moment, but it might come back next weekend.

Just in case you want a G3 iBook cheap, look at PC World's front page.

Only downside is that it has a plain CD drive. My local store was sold out but I ordered one online for only 3.95 delivery:

Wow, thanks guys for spotting this....I've just ordered one myself (hope
there's still some available).

I've been planning on getting a laptop for a while, but with some
concerns about the future (self employed now) even the price of a low-end
G4 iBook was a bit unnerving. One of these should do the job just fine...

...so long as it doesn't have that dodgy motherboard problem ;-)
