I want to improve the performance of my ailing 1999 G3/400 Lombard PowerBook. Would it be best to get an external USB hard drive for backups, or a firewire cardbus (PCMIA) and a firewire HD? I also need to replace the clicking and clunking internal stock Toshiba MK-6411 MAT 6 gig hard drive. I could do with replacing the extra 64 meg RAM with 128 or 256 - a good idea? I am also considering getting a bigger flat-panel screen and external keyboard - can I connect a bigger screen to this PowerBook? Any specific recommendations and suppliers for all this stuff? I don't want to get a newer PowerBook because I'm stuck on OS 9.2.2 and am loathe to go the OSX route because of all my software. Thanks - there's life in my old Lombard yet!!!!
