The factory hard drive on my 1999 Lombard G3 Powerbook is failing - any
specific recommendations for a replacement and a UK supplier? So far I've
sourced three - Toshiba's MK2023 GAS and IBM/Hitachi's Travelstar 80GN and
5k80. Are any of these compatible with my Powerbook and can anyone recommend
a drive? (only the 80GN appears to be stated as "Mac" compatible, the others
say "PC"). I have a 7200 rpm Lacie external firewire drive connected through
a PCMIA card but I can't get the Powerbook to boot from this - maybe the
PCMIA card needs an extension to load before the Mac "sees" it (OS 9.2.2).
Any thoughts please? Thanks!!!

Kevin
