Thanks for those replies - I have done some investigation based on those thoughts.
I think I can rule out the broken antenna as I can connect to a neigbour's wireless network. Wireless is a wonderful thing - their network is entirely unpassworded and I can get on the net no problem through a bare minimum of two brick walls, almost certainly more! I can also connect to my own network if no password is set. Two ideas occur to me; Is it possible for the keychain to become corrupt? Has the router developed a fault where it is not storing/processing passwords properly? The latter is not likely as the iMac is still fine - unless there is some password caching at play. Does anyone know how I can trash my keychain to make sure? - I'd still like to be able to log in obviously!
