That's the thing I don't like about OSX, having to pay for all the
iterations. If your Mac came with OS9 then all the upgrades to 9 were free.
Same with 9.

Fair enough that each new version of OSX comes with fancy new little apps
and so on, but I'd be well cheesed off if I paid close to 100 for OSX.1 and
it didn't qualify me for Tiger. And the new versions of OSX come out so
often you can spend a fortune trying to keep up.

My mate showed me his new 3G mobile phone a few days ago. It had loads of
space for video files, picture files, downloadable games, download the
highlights of a football match, realtime video chat with other 3G owners etc
etc.

Now while that's all very nice and I was very impressed by it all, I still
would like a phone that is just a phone. A nice little unobtrusive mobile
phone that does exactly what it says on the tin. For everything else I'll
just carry a little notebook around (like Columbo).

I'm sure Tiger will be full of whizz-bang japery, but I don't need it. I
need food more, and rent money, and women aren't cheap either.

Vive la stuff before OSX :)
