Um, no, no, no...you've misunderstood completely ;-)

They've actually "recreated" BeOS's BFS and live queries. Well, they hired
Domonic Giampaolo - the guy who wrote the BFS used in BeOS PR onwards - so
it wasn't probably all that hard a decision... ;-)

You have to understand, live queries are not some kludgy file sniffing
process... they use automagically created indices (user definable if they
followed Be on this one) which *never* need to be explicitly indexed. It's
basically like a database built into your filesystem. Live queries mean that
as you add/delete/move files, the query result is updated on the fly...
