Hi,
Assuming you are running MacOS9, you probably have the latest firmware
See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60384
The firmware update that knackers the Mac is for the slot loaders

Make sure you are installing OSX on a partition fully within the first 8GB of the drive if the hard drive has been upgraded.

HI

Havn't been onhere for a long time, but please can you help?

I have a 266 revc Imac that I want to install OSX on. It has enough memory
and disk space but I seem to recall something about have to upgrade the
Firmware? Whatever that is and how you do it is now my quest.

I have read that failure to upgrade the firmware results in a IMac door
stop!

Any advice and words of wisdom please,

Thanks all.
