>> Does that mean you officially need a DVD drive to run Tiger? My G3 iBook isn't yet 2 years old, and only has a CD drive. It's no problem for me, as I have an external DVD drive anyway, but it's going to be annoying for a lot of people!
Long been rumoured that the next cut off of old machines would be an X version that was DVD only. Been 5 years since there was a non-DVD Powerbook and although it isn't my field I'd guess about 3 years for a desktop. The entry level machines might be a bit more recent, maybe 2 years for an iMac/eMac/iBook ? I must admit, I thought it might be G4/G5 only. -- Best wishes Malcolm Cornelius - The Powerbook Fanatic http://www.pbfanatic.co.uk -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:mac-uk@mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
