There's a later version of Quicktime available on Apple's site - 6.0.3
if I recall. You have all multimedia plugins installed in the Mozilla
plugins folder?

If I were you, I'd give serious thought to migrating onto the OSX
platform - but I'm sure you've thought of that. At any rate, the
problems you're having are only going to worsen - this is after all a
discontinued OS and your Mac is OSX capable, sufficient RAM etc.
