I have just updated my Epson 3200 scanner driver to the latest Euro version and, like a fool, failed to back up the old one. Needless to say, the driver does not work, despite much reinstalling, restarting and general nudging and kicking. It would only work in Pro mode and would not address transparencies or negs, to name but two reasons to call it broken.
After finding no way to get it to work I updated my copy of SilverFast SE instead, but, despite all the good things said about it I found it a total faff by comparison, especially as it would not split up negs into separate "thumbnail" views. Am I wrong in thinking this is not an available option? If any other SF SE users can enlighten me I will be grateful. Meanwhile, the only way I could get an Epson-made scanner software solution back was to download the US version of the last driver ( on VersionTracker ) and it seems to be working, though making different noises for some reason. Why this one works and the other doesn't, I have no idea, but I advise caution if you are thinking of trusting the new driver when you come to upgrade your Epson scanner...
