thanks everybody for the comments. That's what I meant actually with mac friendly ISPs, that they would provide a ADSL modem with mac OS drivers.
It turns out that tiscali has a 14.99 offer capped at 30GB/month, 512Kbps which is valid until today and they claim support for up to Tiger, so she's getting this. > Misco are selling a Netgear ADSL modem/router/54g wireless for £55.21 > with a free 54G PC card. I've found a D-link offer at that price <http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~94181~WW~es~/D-LINK%20WIRELESS%20802.11G%2054MBPS%20ADSL%20MODEM%20ROUTER%20WITH%20INTEGRATED%204%20PORT%20SWITCH%20DSL-G604T%20WITH%20FREE%20WIRELESS%20PC%20CARD.htm> but not the Netgear. This seems quite a good offer, one would do entirely without the other modem. One box less, less cables, etc. I doubt the card would work with OS X though. cheers, gianfranco -- GMX DSL = Maximale Leistung zum minimalen Preis! 2000 MB nur 2,99, Flatrate ab 4,99 Euro/Monat: http://www.gmx.net/de/go/dsl -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
