thanks everybody for the comments. That's what I meant actually with mac
friendly ISPs, that they would provide a ADSL modem with mac OS drivers.

It turns out that tiscali has a 14.99 offer capped at 30GB/month, 512Kbps
which is valid until today and they claim support for up to Tiger, so she's
getting this.

I've found a D-link offer at that
price
<http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~94181~WW~es~/D-LINK%20WIRELESS%20802.11G%2054MBPS%20ADSL%20MODEM%20ROUTER%20WITH%20INTEGRATED%204%20PORT%20SWITCH%20DSL-G604T%20WITH%20FREE%20WIRELESS%20PC%20CARD.htm>
but not the Netgear.

This seems quite a good offer, one would do entirely without the other
modem. One box less, less cables, etc. I doubt the card would work with OS X
though.

cheers,
gianfranco
