To me spotlight and dashboard and expose are OS tools to organise
people who
cant organise themselves and something I use once in a blue moon.
Not everyone has been cured of "where the **** did I put that file"-
itis yet Malc ;o)
I in reality don't need Spotlight most of the time but occasionally I
do get that old 'oh where the hell have I put that!!!' moment when
spotlight is very useful, especially when I have 80GB of space that
is mostly full with stuff. I'd be more likely top use it on the move
too as it might not always be as easy to find stuff on the move in a
hurry in my folder systems :o)
