I rather rashly bought a refurb Powerbook from Apple last week and have since decided to buy a G5 Desktop instead. As Apple will charge a re-stocking fee if I return it and I'd rather avoid the hassle of eBay I thought I'd offer first refusal on this list.

It's the top-of-the-range 1.67 GHz G4 Powerbook with Superdrive which normally retails at £1,579. As it was a refurb I got 20% off. If anyone's interested I'll sell it on for £1,240 and throw in an extra 256 MB of RAM for free.

Refurbs Macs are generally returned sales - checked and, if necessary, fixed by Apple - or discontinued models so they're unused and in as-new condition. You get a full AppleCare warranty (one year starting last Thursday) and the only noticeable difference from new is that it comes in a different box.

Insured delivery, if required (you are welcome to collect), will be £20.

Full spec.:

Sale only. I'm not interested in any sort of exchange (unless it's for a brand new G5!).
