1) If I import a custom-made compilation CDR into iTunes (v6.0.1)
of, say,
25 songs, is there a quick way to name all the songs with the same
artist
and album name instead of copying/pasting each one?
Select all the tracks (using shift-click or command-click) you want
to change the Artist/Album fields on and select 'Get Info' from the
context menu or use Command-I, use the fields in the dialogue that
pops up.
You can also select all by highlighting the CD or one of the songs on
it in the playlist window and pressing Command-A.
3) When a track segues into another, with all songs having a 0:00
start time
in iTunes, the iPod inserts a tiny gap between each song. Is there
a fix for
this?
Nope, it's something iPod owners have been complaining about for a
long time :(
I'm pretty sure iTunes does that if you turn the crossfade off. A
lot of other MP3 players do it too, but it'd be nice if Apple could
break the norm and fix it by pre-caching, or using a more powerful
audio codec that's capable of playing 2 songs, allowing them to
overlap the playback.
4) Can anyone recommend any better-sounding headphones than the
supplied
Apple ones? I like lots of low bass and high treble :-)
If you're looking for something reasonably inexpensive, I use
Sennheiser MX-550s, and they sound a world apart from the Apple
earphones.
I bought a pair of Nike (they are actually Philips) sports headphones
in the Apple Store in Delaware while I was there. They are earbuds
but have little arms that sit behind your ear that hold them in -
pretty neat. I've not used the Apple headphones (they are still
sealed in their packet, along with the foam pads) but my Nike ones
are much nicer than any earbuds I've used before. They still don't
quite level up to my pair of Sony neckband earphones though.
