Actually, about the same price: upgrades to CS2 are about £140 (possibly cheaper if I shopped around, but I can get one retail from the Applestore for £139), and Nikon Capture 4.x seems to be available for just over £100. So Nikon Capture is a bit cheaper, but not much.

I read on Internet people advice to use Nikons software for RAW post-production...

That would be much cheaper than getting CS2, no?

Apologies for the off-topic query, but I have a feeling that some people here may know the answer to this.

I have Photoshop CS (not CS2), and use Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) to read .NEF files from my D70. I have the most recent version of the ACR 2.x stream, 2.4. I see that there are several releases in the 3.x stream, but these are stated as not being compatible with Photoshop CS.

So my questions are:- a) has anyone with PS CS tried the ACR 3.x releases and had any success? and b) other than support for additional cameras/file formats (which I don't need), in what way is ACR 3.x improved over ACR 2.4?

I'm wondering if it's time to upgrade to CS2, you see. I had been hoping to leave the upgrade until 'CS3' is released.
