I typed out a long reply, but forgot to change the subject line
away from "Mac UK Digest number whatever", so when I pressed
send I lost the LOT.

This doesn't happen in Usenet.

The gist of my reply is, there's nothing wrong with my hardware
except possibly the memory to which I upgraded (2 x 64M PC100).
I'll put the 3 X 32M PC66 SDRAM back in, and try upgrading again,
although I was trying to avoid doing this, as it's a serious
waste of time putting everything back again if it doesn't work.

Can anyone comment on the possibility, suggested by someone on
uk.comp.sys.mac, that my beige G3's firmware might need updating?
