My daughter's boyfriend had bought himself a new Video iPod on his return from a holiday in Oz (stop-off in Singapore....) He doesn't actually have a computer of any sort! - but he's going to use my daughter's. She's got a 12" Powerbook (867 Mhz - my old machine), and we already know that they're going to have to use the USB1.1 port to sync his iPod.

However, his iPod didn't come with a power adapter. My daughter has a third-gen iPod with the traditional white plug + firewire-type socket in the top, into which she connects her firewire cable to charge her iPod. Can they use the same setup, including the firewire cable, to charge the Video iPod? The connector on the iPod is physically the same so the firewire cable will at least plug into the new iPod.
