2) Let you save the URL of a downloaded file within the downloaded
file itself (like the "comments" feature of OS9)?

(note: I seem to remember another, more recent hack/sw for this but I
couldn't locate it, sorry)
3) Let you see the URL of a link when you click and hold the mouse
onto it?
try this: don't click -- hover and wait for 1 sec. with you finger
_off_ the mouse's noggin.
(I believe this is a function of Safari's java implementation, not
sure - you may just have to update)
