Hello All--

I am responsible for development of a website for a local club event and
would like to have a countdown timer on the first page.

i.e. "There are only x days left until such and such" where x is the number
of days remaining to the date of the event.

As far as I can tell I would need three things:

1. Some sort of coding to calculate the days remaining from the date the
page is loaded to the date of the event.

2. Some coding to display the text including the calculated number of days.

3. Possibly some coding to force the page to load new each time rather than
loading from the cache to keep the timer accurate. This may not be necessary
since the calculation would change the content daily.

I have no idea how to accomplish this so my questions include:

1. Does anyone know where to find an example of the code necessary to
accomplish this?

2. Can it be done with HTML alone or is JavaScript needed?

3. Is it necessary to force the page to load new each time?

I have access to BBEdit 6.5.2. GoLive 5.0 and Dreamweaver 4.0, but I would
prefer to work in BBEdit if possible.

Thanks for any help in advance.
