Mac Build Date

Does anyone know how to find when a mac was built. I looked on the main 
board and found �2000, but I can't believe that it was actually built 
then. The reason I need to know is my boss asked how old it was and no 
one here has a record of when it was purchased. I figured the build date 
would be as close as I could come. I do know it can with OS 9.1 and 10.0.3.
