After looking at the available options, I ended up using Atomz on all 4 of
my sites and have been *very* happy with it.  It's free and doesn't place
ads on my pages -- there's just a small Atomz icon on the search results
page.  

It's quick and easy to re-index the site and you can get stats on what
search terms are being used.

Here's one of my sites if you want to see how it works:
<http://catanddoghelp.com>.  The "search" page ("search this site") is
listed in the nav bar that runs down the left side of each page.

Atomz itself is at <http://www.atomz.com>.
