Hi everybody :)Offline or online, until today I had never met another Vietnamese person using Mac OSX. This probably had a lot to do with the fact that I spend most of my time in free-software projects, but all the same, I hadn't met another OSX-user in any of our Vietnamese-language lists or fora, either.
So my efforts to release an OSX version of OpenOffice.org in our language were largely symbolic, more an effort to support my favourite OS, than anything else. "Here it is, OpenOffice.org available for OSX in Vietnamese, I hope somebody will use it." I knew _I_ would use it, which was a start.
But that was all I really expected, especially given the lack of response in general from my community about OpenOffice.org (due to persistent failures of our project in the past).
Yet lo and behold, as my Granny always said, today on our vi_VN list, there is an email from another user saying he had installed our OpenOffice.org Vietnamese build for OSX Intel, and how great it was. :))
All the frustration and hard work, all the worry and difficulties, it's all worth while at moments like these.
I've only ever translated a couple of other OSX apps, for my own use really. Maybe there are more potential users out there!
In addition to answering this user's plaintive question about how to input our language (a brief tour of the International prefs), I told him this project was working on a native OSX OpenOffice.org, and invited him to help with testing. :)
