Yes, but this is "Mac port is not supported by Sun" not "Mac port is
not supported by OpenOffice.org".
Sun is a private company, Sun developers simply can't support
platforms they do not have access to etc. This is perfectly valid
from their side!
I also do not spend my time with Windows issues...
