Hi,

I started writing some blog posts on OOo topics, mainly how to use it from Java/WebObjects. The first part is about doing a manual mail merge, next one will be on how to start OOo as a service and accepting connections from Java.

Nice work.

A couple of tips:
You can easily force the font conversion to run again. You just need to delete an empty file in the fonts directory. 1 within the application, the other in the user's ooo profile. /Applications/OpenOffice.org\ 2.2.app/Contents/MacOS/share/fonts/ truetype/system_fondu_done /Users/shaunmcdonald/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice.org 2.2/ user/fonts/user_fondu_done

Great, I will put that tip in the post.

Pictures are always nice in instructions that you are giving. It helps to keep the reader's attention for a lot longer. For example the ones at http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/faq/installing/X11.html although not perfect, show the user exactly

I was thinking about this, but I fear that the post will be too long. I think I will add screenshots at least for the datasource browsing and the database creation wizard.
