James, I am a long time Mac user and it is my primary computer. But I also use linux and Windows machines and very much value the fact that the interface is the same on all platforms.
I think it more appropriate that the first Mac port be compatible and from there work to overhaul OOo to come up to the better way of doing things on the Mac. If you want a more Mac like version of OOo then I suggest looking at NeoOffice/J at this time as they are more like what you are asking for at this time. Also, someone there boldly mentioned that OOo Aqua should exploit all the Mac's powers, even at the expense of some compatibility with PC/Linux versions. I heartily concur! OOo Aqua shouldn't be shackled into a shadow clone of OOo PC by the PC's limitations or ways of doing things. The Mac's credo is Be Different! Go for broke! Mac fans will bless you, even if it takes a while longer!
