aquavcl01 patches but no luck (just locked up on run).

with m211 now, so I'll see how that turns out in a few more hours.
I'm pretty rusty with my C/C++, so not sure how much help I can be with
patches and such, but I'm certainly willing to beta test and help debug.
any help is welcome.
