While I'm certainly looking forward to a real Mac-native version of OpenOffice -- and Sun's increased involvement certainly is good news -- I'm wondering if the X11 version for Mac will be abandoned once the Aqua version is complete?
Although it's not as easy of a solution as the OOo provided binary, fink (http://finkproject.org/) provides builds of openoffice in several languages. You would have to use fink to compile it on each computer you're using (though sometimes fink provides binary builds of popular pacakges), but fink is fairly easy to use. I don't believe they provide an option to use the Apple fonts, so it should work with those scripts. It'll basically build OOo as it would be on a Unix/Linux computer.
