Greetings:

So far MacOOo 2.2.1 r2 looks good and a class of 23 haven't stumbled
over any bugs yet. There is a persistent OOo pest which needs squatting
prior Aqua. First, it's almost impossible to get rid of the Document
Recovery screen at start-up once it occurs without a lot messing around,
and also there's that pesky "Quicktime and a photo -
JPEG/GIF/PNG/Whatever decompresser are needed to see this picture"
graphic box in place of an image even when you've the most up-to-date
Quicktime on-board when importing a non-OOo doc with images (the only
way around this is to replace the non-OOo's doc's image with one that
isn't compressed like PICT files -- which means a trip to Graphic
Converter and a lot of wasted time converting and cut/pasting which
kills the whole desire for importing.

There should be _non-techie_ solutions to these issues (i.e.; No "you
go into this root X directory with terminal and diddle with this, dabble
with that"). Resolving these issues for _laymen_ should be no more
complex than hitting a drop-down menu item that says "Disable Document
Recovery" and some means of swallowing regular JPEG images within
imported files. I can't stress enough the value of using drop-down menus
for laymen instead of plowing through branched layers of Option and
Configuration preference entries. (Being a techie often blinds one that
the greater populace isn't as sharp or does complex things by second
nature as you can.).

Keep up the good work!

James Greenidge
