This is what happens when the build is untested ...
To quote you from May of this year:
Next alpha (alpha2 is a good candidate) will be aquavcl01 only, and
official build.
Beside of that, everybody is free to provide unofficial builds.
ie. a while back you were really pushing for the Aqua work to be
integrated and builds released with no official sanction. It seems
weird that you want to go back on this now.
I do not wish to reopen the debate about this but I believe that
there is a world of difference between Maho's builds and people
providing poorly patched ones willynilly. Having someone provide
these builds, even at this early stage, means that the list contains
fewer requests from new users struggling with the build. And the e-
mails that do crop up re. known issues can be dealt with efficiently
and without rancour. Indeed it seems to me that the push to get Aqua
builds done despite the known problems has led to a lot of progress
in the last two months. Patches have been included into the tree and
are part of QA. So, thank you for pushing the issue back then and all
your work since then.
