Mr Bachard, I have been on OOOForums for over a year helping OO.oX11 users with problems installing and using OpenOffice.org because you and this team could not be bothered to put a README in your distribution.
You, however, have not contributed one bit of help to any user on that forum. You instead have chosen to promote OpenOffice.org Aqua, which is not ready for every day use, and to attack me for mentioning the word NeoOffice. Get this straight: you can think anything you want about NeoOffice, but leave me out of it. If an end user asks me what NeoOffice is, I will tell them. The POLITICS of contributing code, of the license, I do not care. Most importantly, the end user does not care. They care about writing letters and using a spreadsheet. I do not push NeoOffice on the forum over OpenOffice.org. I help users with the program they have chosen and try to fix whatever problem they have found. I have a documentation wiki I have been using to fill the support gap this community has had since OO.o2.0 came out. I myself have used OpenOffice.org X11 since 1.0.1 came out. I have used NeoOffice/J since 0.0.1. I have no bias between these two programs/communities/philosophies. Furthermore, oooforums.org is a third-party site. It is not owned, operated, run-by, etc, OpenOffice.org. I asked you in the forum, and I will ask you here again. Unless you actually are helping someone, please do not post your rants on NeoOffice, OpenOffice.org, or any other thing. The people there are trying to get help. They will see that the program is broken, they will see someone arguing about it and then they will go buy MS Office. Not to mention, yelling at volunteers who are helping OpenOffice.org is no way to keep them. No, I am not going anywhere, but not everyone is so resilliant. You may no longer be the lead of this group, but to a large portion of the community you still speak for the Mac port. When you do these things you make it look bad. Please, just let me help these people use OpenOffice.org. Keep your politics elsewhere. -j __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
