Are you using m242?
No, I have only seen m242 for PPC on good-day (the harddisk of my PPC
Powerbook crashed last week, so I have only Intel now)
If maho hasn't built it, then you can use the Sun build.
It is usually available from
http://download.openoffice.org/680/index.html Currently it is the 2.4
branch that is available.
<a_bit_provocative> maybe we should advise to use NeoOffice until
OOo Aqua
is ready? </a_bit_provocative>
Or maybe the latest aqua builds?
I have the Aqua on the Leopard MacBook Pro, because of the X11 2.1.2
problem
8-)
Personally for most tasks the Aqua version performs wells. One major
issue that I have found is with the PDF production, whereby it looks
perfect in Preview, however when I print the PDF on to paper, it comes
out very strange with all the characters in random places.
Why I upgraded? Because there were many problems with the new X11
that
came
with Leopard and that the advise was given (by me amongst others) to
keep
X11 up to date from the x.org site.
Maybe it's a silly belief in progress... but none of the
people-in-the-know
on this or the users list ever advised against upgrading.
I have seen that advice before.
I have already made use of Time Machine 2 or 3 times now.
I'll look into it asap, I have a LaCie that could do the job (iDisk
isn't
allowed I gather)
You can also use iDisk for remote backup of your home folder. Whereas
Time Machine is aimed at backing up the whole drive. If something
happens to your hard drive, then you can restore the whole OS to what
it was like at the last backup (or an earlier backup).
