It makes sense. You can add it to the wiki.

Well pkgconfig shouldn't be needed any longer if you build aqua OOo 
on the Mac even X11 OOo shouldn't need it. So which Milestone are 
you trying to build and which ./configure line are you using?

The raw pkg-config will build on Mac OS X but you need to build 
some dependencies first. A ./configure run will tell you which ones 
are needed. With fink or Macports you avoid this since they take 
care themselves of needed depencies.
