G'day :)
I notice that Maho's and Pavel's Mac OSX builds now simply call
themselves "MacOSX[arch]_install". Are we no longer listing X11
builds?
If so, I will delete them from our downloads page. (If not, where
should users find them?)
Maho still provides X11 builds see
<http://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/OOH680_m3/>
and they have X11 in the dmg name. There was a discussion on this
on, I think it was the releases mailinglist, because there were
changes made to the way OOo names the packages during buildtime and
this had the effect that the Mac packages, equal if native or X11,
became the same name. Thankfully Maho noticed this and now he
renames his X11 packages by hand so that users know which builds
are X11 and which are Aqua.
There weren't any with X11 in the filename on Maho's server, the day I
looked. I'm glad there are now. :)
It is difficult to imagine why users would wish to persist with
the X11 builds, but they may be attached to details like the
language-specific keyboard shortcuts (which I notice do not
appear in the Aqua builds).
Aqua will be out with OOo 3.0 while 2.4 most likely still will be
X11. So we do need X11 builds and we continue to provide them as
long as it's possible.
OK.
