There is issue 82258 <http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82258>. If this isn't the right issue for you there are other issues regarding the import of Word documents but they are too many to list them all in this mail. Simply do a query in Issuetracker and you'll see what I mean.
