I have just tested the same file on my original 2GHz MacBook.
Here are my results:
X11 not running, double click ooo icon in finder -> "command timed
out" message -> click OK -> ooo starts.
X11 not running, double click ooo icon in finder -> "command timed
out" message -> click cancel -> ooo does NOT start.
X11 running, double click ooo icon in finder -> ooo starts instantly
within X11.
I too am getting those messages in the console log. Is someone able to
investigate the leaks please?

OO starts. If I try, and click on the icon, nothing happens. Even
though is shows when running "ps aux"
Any ideas as to what might be happening?
