Hello,
I downloaded dev300m3 Intel build by Pavel and really like the result.
But since all the great things happened (inclusion of native mac
dialogs for printing and opening/saving files), I do have a problem
with it, as probably do others using the software.
As you might know, OS X (it's UI strings) is localized into 15
languages: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303588
As you might know, OpenOffice.org is (being) localized into 90
languages: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Languages
Using native dialogs (like print, open and save) makes localization of
OOo obsolete. If print, open and save dialogs, that user will use
quite often, are in English, why translating other less used dialogs
into native language?
So I would really kindly ask developers/mac porters to find a way to
force localized strings from OOo package into the system native
dialogs used, if that is possible at all. Maybe that could be an
option in the preferences.
It is known that you can use the Apple localisation in the native
dialogs can be easily done for the Apple supported languages, but I
don't know how easily the other community languages will be. The
current process is to place an empty fr.lproj folder inside the
resources fold in the .app bundle. I currently don't know if it is
possible to override the Apple specified strings, as they are
currently set system wide.
I do know that it is possible to use old OpenOffice.org dialogs
instead. But then, one could also use some other office suite. Or
operating system, I know. Apple might support more languages in the
future, but how many and when? For them only costs-revenue ratio is
important, so I am sure they will not support languages of
less-developed nations. For sure not as many as there are OOo
localizations. I do understand that for developers from USA, France,
Germany or other 12 languages this doesn't look like a big problem. If
more and more apps speak other languages, Apple might consider
investing more into supporting those languages ...
You can use the old OpenOffice.org dialogs by changing one of the
preferences.
1. Open preferences
2. Choose OpenOffice.org>General on the left list.
3. Make sure that "Use OpenOffice.org dialogs" us enabled under "Open/
Save OpenOffice.org dialogs" and "Print dialogs".

I've just noticed that the spinner doesn't fully fit the year into the
