Hi,

I'd favor solution 3. Writing a hidden directory (solution 2) in "$HOME/Library/Application Support" is not what we should do.

OOo_3 as directory (solution 1) would be ok, too. We don't change majors often enough that having a subdir with the major is a real advantage.

Just my 2 cents, pl

We have the additional problem that we need to change the name so that
it differs from the profile created by the 3.0 Beta version. So my
proposals would be:

(1)

$SYSUSERCONFIG/openoffice.org_3 on Windows and Mac OSX
$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org_3 on Linux and Solaris

or (2)

$SYSUSERCONFIG/OpenOffice.org_3 on Windows and Max OSX
$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org_3 on Linux and Solaris

or (3)

$SYSUSERCONFIG/OpenOffice.org/3 on Mac and Windows
$SYSUSERCONFIG/.OpenOffice.org/3 on Linux/Solaris

(2) would be my last choice, I would prefer (3) or (1). I think we can't
get rid of the "." problem.
