Hi,
All the recent machines Apple provides do have a remote controller
shipped with. Martin Kahr ( http://www.martinkahr.com/2007/07/26/
remote-control-wrapper-20/index.html ) proposed a great application
under MIT license, to make it work. Instead of reinventing the wheel,
and after he autorized us to use his code, I tried to make it work
with Impress.
After some time discovering the code, and a week 1/2 of work, I
finally found a simple way to implement the basics of the thing.
Below, a link where you can download a special build (unofficial and
hacked). Don't forget to do a backup of your files !
What you currently can do is:
- start a presentation
- goto next / previous slide
- goto to last/first slide
- quit the presentation
The Impress window must be in front (the active window). Else, Front
row menus works as usual. Some other features are missing, and I hope
to make them work asap. The URL for the download is Laurent Buisson
site : http://oooaqua.laurentbuisson.fr
Currently, the builds are Intel only, en-US , fr and de localized.
I'll try to provide PowerPC versions on tuesday.
The purpose of this mail is, we need :
- feedback about the current pre-implementation (is the current
behavior intuitive ..etc )
- suggestions .. ( please read firstly : http://
wiki.services.openoffice.org/w/index.php?title=Mac_OS_X_Porting_-
_Apple_Remote_implementation#3.29_Current_proposed_Draft )
- whatever you consider important regarding this feature
Thanks in advance for any help !
Eric Bachard
