Hi Larry,

I have never seen OpenOffice.org and Java work together on Snow Leopard
but wasn't aware of the workaround.
I tried the workaround and can confirm that soffice crashes with the
following console messages:
23-10-10 19:15:04 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[279]
 ([0x0-0xc3ac3a].org.openoffice.script[26363]) Tried to setup shared
memory more than once

Oct 23 19:15:04 macpro soffice[26363] <Error>: kCGErrorFailure: Set a
breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged.

I did not find a soffice crash log in the usual places
