Sybase expands distribution, announces new partner applications for ASE and
previews SQL Anywhere Studio 9 for Mac OS X

SYNOPSIS:

Sybase, Inc. announces the expansion of distribution of its Mac solutions
to MacMall, MacZone, Ingram Micro and Apple.com; new partner applications
for Adaptive Server� Enterprise (ASE) and the beta introduction of SQL
Anywhere� Studio 9 for Mac OS X.

* Sybase� ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X now available to purchase from MacMall,
MacZones, Ingram Micro and Apple.com, making it easier for SMB
organizations to buy enterprise-grade solutions.

* Sybase's Mac solutions now showcased in ERP, Content Management and
Document Management applications.

* Beta release of SQL Anywhere Studio 9 for Mac OS X from Sybase subsidiary
iAnywhere Solutions now available.

DUBLIN, Calif. - June 25, 2003 - Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), a leading
enterprise infrastructure and integration company, today announced expanded
distribution for the Mac version of Adaptive Server Enterprise the
company's enterprise-class relational database management system; and new
application development partners in the areas of ERP, Content Management
and Document Management.  In addition, Sybase subsidiary iAnywhere
Solutions unveiled the beta release of SQL Anywhere Studio for Mac OS X
(see June 23, 2003 press release, "iAnywhere Solutions Unveils SQL Anywhere
Studio 9 for Mac OS X Beta").

Increased distribution for Sybase ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X

To make it easier for small and medium sized businesses to purchase Sybase
technology, the company expanded distribution in four primary areas:

* Mail order/Online - Sybase ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X is now sold through
MacMall, MacZones, Apple.com and Sybase's e-store.  Over 3 million Mac
customers buy through these outlets.

* VARs - Sybase has signed PowerEasy, a Mac ERP applications provider;
HundredAcre Solutions, a U.K. content management company; Mindwrap, Inc. a
document management and imaging workflow developer; and Effigent, Inc., a
U.S. based WebObjects systems integrator with affiliated offices in India.

* ISVs - Sybase has signed LiveTime Software, a help desk software developer.

* ASPs - Sybase ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X is now available for monthly lease at
SCITX, a hosting facility in Santa Cruz, CA.

* Distribution - Sybase ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X is now available to nearly
170,000 resellers in more than 100 countries through Ingram Micro.

"Our resellers are seeing the technical and financial benefits of working
with Sybase," said Steve Bertges, vice president of Macintosh business at
Sybase.  "We were recently recognized in the VARBusiness Annual Report card
- cited as one of the easiest to do business with, while providing low
channel conflict, among leading database software vendors."

ASE Partner Applications Gain Momentum

PowerEasy, a Sybase developer, today announced over 10 new enterprise
customers.  "Small and mid-sized companies are looking for powerful
enterprise solutions that are easy to manage," said K.R. Prasad, president
of PowerEasy Corp.  "We are winning many new SMB enterprises by integrating
the power and scalability of Sybase with Apple's legendary ease of use into
a complete, yet affordable ERP solution."

Inoveon Corporation, a premiere medical service company that delivers
solutions to detect, stage and monitor diseases affecting the eye, is using
ASE 12.5 for Mac OS X to handle critical patient information and digital
stereoscopic retinal images used in detecting diabetes.  "Our data can mean
the difference between sight and blindness," said William A. Hagstrom,
Chairman and CEO of Inoveon.  "As you can imagine, uptime and data
integrity are essential.  We chose Sybase because of its support for
redundant data centers and business continuity, its reputation for data

New version of market-leading embedded database for Mac OS X

Sybase subsidiary iAnywhere Solutions announced the beta release of SQL
Anywhere Studio 9 for Mac OS X.  With more than 7 million seats in use at
