Big Nerd Ranch Announces New PHP 5 Bootcamp, October 2004

Atlanta, GA - August 6, 2004 - Big Nerd Ranch Announces New PHP 5
Bootcamp, October 2004

Big Nerd Ranch announces the newest addition to its lineup of training
courses, PHP 5 Bootcamp. The class, scheduled for October 18-22, 2004,
is ideal for web designers and developers looking for an elegant and
economical solution to their design needs. PHP is an increasingly
popular open-source, cross-platform, server-side scripting language
that provides a critical tool in the development of fast-loading,
robust and flexible web-pages, particularly for Mac OS X programmers.
With the brand-new version 5, PHP now has solid support for
object-oriented programming.

Upon completion of the course, PHP 5 Bootcamp students will be able to:

- develop reliable, high performance web applications with PHP5
- leverage the power of the PEAR frameworks
- manage users with cookies and sessions
- read and write to relational databases
- parse and generate XML
- create web services

Aaron Hillegass, Big Nerd Ranch founder, anticipated the launch of the
new class as one of the integral pieces of Big Nerd Ranch growth.
"Over the last three years, we have seen the Big Nerd Ranch grow
enormously, both in scope and in reputation. By developing and
including new classes such as the PHP5 Bootcamp in our repertoire, we
continue to provide the perfect medium for the synthesis of Mac OS X
technology with cross-platform, open-source applications."

David Sklar, PHP Bootcamp instructor, is the author of "Learning PHP 5"
(O'Reilly), "Essential PHP Tools" (Apress), and "PHP Cookbook"
(O'Reilly). He is a respected software developer and an instructor at
the New School University and has spoken at many conferences, including
the O'Reilly Open Source Conference, the EGovOS Open Source/Open
Standards Conference, and the International PHP Conference.
