Fink isn't using its own port to Mac. Fink *is* using MacFUSE. They are repackaging it and creating their own binary distribution. That's all--it's MacFUSE installed in another location.
I personally would prefer that people use MacFUSE Core from this site (and limit repackagings to individual file systems and GUIs). Since each repackaging (Fink, MacPorts, ...) puts MacFUSE Core in a different location (/sw, /opt, ...), and some might also leave out certain pieces (the fusefs.fs bundle), one can't have a predictable base environment. Not all operational aspects of "Open Source" that work well on Linux etc. work equally well on Mac OS X. Try searching harder--I think I've seen some mention of people getting the Python bindings to run on Mac OS X. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "macfuse-devel" group.
