The ITC podcast talk was pretty interesting too. http://www.itconversations.com/shows/detail1804.html Understanding the fundamentals of OS's in general seems to go a long way in understanding unfamiliar OS's, too. Getting your first Mac in 2003 and publishing the first comprehensive (1680 pages) book about its internals in 2006... Well done! I wish I had your stamina :) The book: http://www.amazon.com/Mac-OS-Internals-Systems-Approach/dp/ 0321278542 And I hope that developers use MacFUSE a lot in both commercial and non-commercial apps to make it popular and known (--> trusted) among developers. It, along with Gears API, Maps API's, GWT etc., are great enablers for us interaction, user experience and/or product designers. I think that in a software project, technology should be an enabler, not a limitation.
