I'm a bit new to Macs, so forgive me, but I've spent pretty much most of the morning find just the binary to install the driver so I can see an external drive! Finally, on about the 15th page and 50th website, I found two versions: http://chucker.mystfans.com/opensource/ntfs-3g/NTFS-3G%2020070116-r3.dmg http://chucker.mystfans.com/opensource/ntfs-3g/NTFS-3G%2020070116-r4.dmg
I also installed 0.40 of Macfuse (the prerequisite), http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/downloads/list?can=1 restarted and tried to installed NTFS-3G. It told me it wasn't installed. Over the course of the next couple of hours, I read endless forums about having to symlink this or that, and then run scripts from the commandline to uninstall one particular version, and over the next 8 or so reboots I installed every combination of NTFS-3G R3 and R4 and Macfuse 0.30 and 0.40, as various forums had recommended. All that kept happening at the NTFS installation stage was that it said that Macfuse wasn't installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated because all this data is stuck on this disk and buying a PC just to read it isn't really an option!
