Hi Felix

Re our conversations at and around
<http://ircbrowse.com/channel/macfusion/20070626> we noted that

a) NTFS-3G-1.516 (the installer for which probably incorporated the
developer's MacFUSE-Tools-0.3.0 or later) was developed for MacFUSE
0.3.0, which has since been deprecated

b) MacFUSE 0.4.0 does things differently

c) as expected, older NTFS-3G-1.516 did not work with newer MacFUSE
0.4.0

d) ntfs-3g 1.616_0 from MacPorts did not work with MacFUSE 0.4.0 from
Google Code.

Felix, re <http://trac.macports.org/projects/macports/ticket/12226>
you should:

1) sudo port uninstall ntfs-3g

2) sudo port selfupdate

3) sudo port upgrade installed

4) sudo port install ntfs-3g

after which ntfs-3g ntfs-3g 1.616_1 from MacPorts will run.

Steps (2) and (3) are optional but recommended.

##

Felix, re version(s) of ntfs-3g that don't require a trip to the
command line, patience :)
